A prince hiding his identity, and a woman hiding hers – and sparks will fly when they have only each other to rely on… and ready for a fight. What he doesn’t realise is that she’s just the spy he’s looking for.
Now trapped on an island together with food running out fast, Giselle is attracting his notice for all the wrong reasons, and it surely won’t be long before secrets, as well as clothes, start to fly.
Will Éduard discover Giselle’s terrible secret – or will he reveal some of his own? And can a perilous time with a prince ever lead to something more than just the heady delights of the flesh?
This is the prequel of the Ravishing Regencies.
This is a steamy Regency romance with a happily ever after, no cliffhangers, and part of a series that can be read in any order.

I loved Prince Eduard trying to find the spy who are helping the murderous rebellion group. Giselle looked suspicious to him while at a Tavern suspiciously talking to another man.
While following her, they find themselves stranded on an Island to fat from the mainland to swim!
In a world of danger, two souls find each other, although they are being deceptive. This deception almost cost them their opportunity for love. Giselle was a strong woman, doing what she had to in order to protect family. I loved how Eduard wanted to help Giselle. Julia Eve put feeling into her narration. I have been enjoying this series.
I received a copy of this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
Peril With a Prince is fast-paced, suspenseful and romantic. Two people trapped on a deserted island, both of whom are evasive, leads to misunderstandings and misdirection. Christmas dinner was not their usual fare, but they weren’t lacking in mutual attraction. The story is well-written and comes to a satisfactory close. It also ties up with other books in the Ravishing Regencies series by this author.
I loved the main characters. Heartwarming romance filled with mystery, intrigue, surprising twist and of course, love.
Giselle d’Epilucon, never meant to be a spy. Fate intervened though and in an effort to save her brother she became the spy known as the Great Whisperer. Prince Eduard Aviroux sought the Great Whisperer in an effort to join him and save the French nobility. In his attempt to try to catch him he ended up with Giselle, never imagining her to be the spy he sought. Can they work through their feelings for each other to work together or will their misunderstandings lead to a final split?
This was a French Revolution romance and did not take place during the Regency time period. Prince Éduard of Aviroux is searching for the spy the Great Whisper, who is helping French nobles, because he is a French nobleman himself and he doesn’t like that the revolutionaries are killing French citizens based on their birth. He sees Giselle meeting with a man in a tavern and thinks that man is the spy he is looking for. When Giselle and the man run, he catches her in a boat and they end up stuck on an island. She was a servants’ daughter, whose parents were killed because they worked for French nobles. There is confusion as they both think the other is on the side of the revolutionaries. Their romance happened very quickly and it seems to end just as quickly when she leaves him behind on the island with no way to get off. I would have liked to have known more about the man Giselle met with and what happened to her brother. Maybe that will be revealed in a future story.
This was a fun story to read. It was different than most because Giselle seemed to be the stronger character. Eduard’s character was sweet and he seemed a little naive compared to Giselle. He was not prepared for or use to having to survive off the land whereas Giselle seemed efficient at it. It was a short story but kept your attention through out the book. I will definitely have to read to read the rest of the series to see what happens to Giselle’s brother!
Peril with a Prince (Ravishing Regencies Book 0) by Emily E.K. Murdoch is an awesome start to a new series. I read this book in one sitting, it was a quick and easy read. This book has romance, passion, mystery, adventure and a lot of action to keep you turning the pages. The characters were well developed and the story was well written. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
