Everyone knows the man they call “Lord Lightning” is a cold-hearted rake with an unsavory reputation except Eliza Farrell, an innocent young astrologer fresh from a small country village whose horoscopes tell her he is a man who was born to love. When Eliza’s predictions drive away Lord Lightning’s mistress, he indulges in one of his famous pranks and abducts her, telling her she must take his … she must take his mistress’s place. It’s just a joke. But when Eliza shocks him by taking up his offer, the dissolute lord meets his match in a woman as passionate and unpredictable as himself.

I give this read 4 stars for the unusual story line only, while I did enjoy the characters the story relied on way to much of the astrology references
Funny but had a serious twist our sins sometimes are taken out on our children. Good plot kept me guessing what was between him and his mother
Sweet characters, interesting inclusion of Astrology reading gives the heroine an insight into the true character of Lord Lightning a perfect Rake. She sees his true character in her astrology charts and helps him to find his true self. A little bit sappy bit I liked the heroine, Eliza, but then I love spirited, individualistic heroines.
Liked the story and the characters. The lower rating is simply for the “extra” information about the time and the way things worked during that time.
Hard to believe a mother could treat her child like Lady Hartwood did. The astrology passages were a bit bazaar and meant nothing to me. Glad I read it!
Delightful!
Fun, light romance. A quick read.
enjoyable
I couldn’t put it down! Highly recommended!
