To paraphrase a quote from an old movie “hang onto your seats it’s definitely a bumpy ride.” Wow! Lexi Blake packed a lot into this book and it’s not only intriguing and suspenseful it’s powerful. There are big revelations leaving some questions without answers. Sometimes the anticipation was so heightened that I thought my heart would beat out of my chest. The insidious Levi Green continues to wreak havoc. As we learn more about their pasts, Robert and Ariel finally move beyond just doing a mating dance. Their dungeon scene was eroticism at its best. You just keep turning the page to find out what happens next because not knowing is completely unacceptable. There is dramatic action and the usual touches of humor that make a Lexi Blake such a fabulous reading experience. Plus, it wouldn’t be complete without a few of Ian Taggart’s sarcastic observations.
5 I’m Still Picking My Jaw Up Off the Floor Stars!!!
I can say one thing for certain about this third book in this spinoff series by the amazing Lexi Blake…HOLY MOLY I DID NOT see some of what we learned coming!!! I knew that Robert and Ariel’s book was going to be epic because of their relationship that’s been developing in the first two books. Let me just tell you it’s gone up several notches because they are ON FIRE!!!
In this book we’re getting some answers as to the who’s and why’s of these men losing their memory and on this fact finding mission to Munich with Ariel along so she can pinpoint who’s the one holding back it becomes even murkier because there’s a HUGE secret about Robert’s past that is revealed!!!
This book moves at a rapid pace given their mission and keeping Levi Green from getting his hands on the drug that literally stole these men’s lives!! There’s so much suspense to this book that for me the romance part of it was and added bonus. I was on the edge of my seat several times while reading this book. Ms. Blake is a true genius when it comes to writing these books and keeping the story concise letting us, the readers, be along for the ride as the twists and turns keep coming at us.
There’s so much more to be had with this series and these men who are searching for answers and I’m ready, willing and able to drop everything I’m doing when the next book is released!!!
Wow! This book held me completely captivated and I didn’t want to put it down. I so enjoy getting lost with the Lost Boys! Robert and Ariel have been dancing around each other for awhile. They had to work together and they tried to push their feelings aside. However, the chemistry between them was palpable and too strong for them to stay away forever. Besides the passion between them, this book also had mystery, action, edge-of-your-seat thrills! I couldn’t read this book fast enough because I had to know, WHAT’S NEXT!? I loved this installment in the Masters and Mercenaries: The Forgotten Series. Be sure not to miss out on this read!
Perfect blend of a sexy and sultry romance with suspense and intrigue. The Lost Boys are struggling to find their identities and the last mission sends them to Germany which opens up new information and memories. Ariel and Robert are finally acknowledging the attraction for each other and allow themselves to fully indulge at a German BDSM club. Just when you think these two are on the road to happiness in their personal lives, new challenges are delivered which puts the team to the test. I love the layers of intrigue in this story that had me guessing how it would unfold. I was never right. The sex scenes with Ariel and Robert are intense yet thoughtful and compelling as these two individuals truly open up to each other. There is so much to enjoy in this story but I don’t want to give away too much. It was something that definitely grabbed me from the start and kept me page turning to the end. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Not since Suzanne Brockmann has an author written Romantic Suspense story arcs like Lexi Blake has done. Starting with the Masters and Mercinaries series and spilling over to the M&M: The Forgotten, Blake has created a world filled with spies, intrigue, and BDSM. The newest book in The Forgotten series is Lost in You, which finally brings Ariel and Robert together after 2 years of intense physical desire and emotional longing.
Confession: I’ve only read a handful of books in the original series and Lost in You is my first in The Forgotten books. Even so, it’s easy to see how well Blake weaves the stories of the McKay/Taggart employees together, creating a family-like atmosphere. I have read Blake’s Thieves and Hunter series where she excels at this, so I feel as though I can speak with some authority.
There are all sorts of familiar characters in Lost in You and it’s this that keeps me going back to Lexi Blake. All of the Lost Boys are featured and Blake whips up some new story arcs along the way. But, this is first and foremost Robert and Ariel’s story and I absolutely adore them.
Ariel is perfect. Former MI6, badass assassin, and psychologist, she fell in love with Robert at first sight. From page one we know that Robert and Ariel are in love with each other, but there’s all sorts of conflict to keep them apart. Ariel handles all of this with a quiet grace that makes her the perfect woman for Robert.
Robert has always been a protector and knows this even if he can’t remember anything from his time before he was taken by Hope McDonald (evil genus that I assume was introduced somewhere along the line). He sees Ariel’s gentleness and, though he loves her, forces himself to stay away from her because he’s afraid of his own demons-and what they could do to her.
Fast forward two years and these two have finally decided to give in to their desire while on a fact-finding mission to Munich. That’s when all hell breaks loose, Robert’s past comes barreling in, and long held secrets of the Lost Boys come to light. Even though I hadn’t read the previous books in the series, it was easy to put together the details and, more importantly, the emotional aspects of everything happening.
This series, unlike its predecessor, is light on the BDSM and sex scenes. All the characters are “in the lifestyle” and the Dom/s relationships are frequently part of the conversation, but except for a handful of scenes, Lost in You focuses on the Romantic Suspense.
To give you some idea at how much I was drawn in by Lost in You, I immediately went back to the beginning of the M&M series and started with book two (already read book 1 last year). After reading Lost in You, I needed to go back and delve into all the dynamics that are afloat in this series. If you’re a fan of Romantic Suspense, I definitely recommend this book.
4 stars for Lost in You. Heat level: 4
I received this book from the author in exchange for honest feedback.
I have to admit that I was skeptical about The Forgotten being as good as the original Masters and Mercenaries series. The original stories had great plotlines that were as varied as the couples that each story was about so that every book had it’s own suspense and thrills. I thought The Forgotten would get bogged down in a repetitive loop since they all are essentially the hunt for Dr. McDonald’s lost research and formulas ~ boy! was I ever wrong. Lost In You takes on the task of finding out who Robert McClellan originally was, furthering the game against Levi Green and stopping McDonald’s information from getting into the wrong hands. Oh and, of course, bringing Dr. Ariel Adisa and Robert together as they should be.
Lexi Blake took two very strong characters and managed to make them even more herculean. Ariel, we learn, is more than just a dedicated therapist she is also an assassin with wicked skills and an impressive resume. Ariel is also a caring, loving, thoughtful woman who only wants the best for the “lads” in her care but most especially Robert with whom she has forged a bond that she wants to make blossom into much more. Robert, despite not knowing where he came from or who he was in his past life, remains a stalwart brother, loyal, and smart. He may not know the past but he knows what he wants now, Ariel and true lives for all his brothers and is determined to get it.
Blake loads up Lost In You to the brim with everything a reader can want in a book. Not only do you get the romance & D/s of the leads, but there are also the complicated relationships of the Lost (Sasha, Owen, Dante, Robert, Jax and Tucker) themselves, the interplay between Ariel and the ousted Solo, which is downright hysterical at times, the nefarious machinations of Levi Green, and the twist and turns of who is the traitor and where is Dr. McDonald’s research. Then just when you think that Lexi has played all her cards with this book she throws out a few more aces guaranteed to drop your jaw to the floor. This is the type of book which grabs you from the very first page and refuses to let go until the last. It doesn’t end of a cliffhanger necessarily but will have you absolutely going to Blake’s social media to beg for the next installment.
Lost In You is the perfect romance spy story and if you haven’t started The Forgotten series yet, you definitely should. It’s only getting better and better with each and every page.
LOST IN YOU by Lexi Blake is book Three in the Masters & Mercenaries: The Forgotten Series. This is the story of Ariel Adisa and Robert McClellan. I have yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone series.
Robert once had to fight in a battle the he didn’t understand but was rescued along with some other men by McKay Taggart. They had been stripped of their memory, so none of the group are really sure who they really are. Now they are a group moving forward to find out as much as they can along with what has happened. Robert meets Ariel who is a psychologist who he wants to protect even though she has proven herself to be a strong women. When they go on a mission to Munich, Ariel feels this is her time to show how strong she really is.
Loved this exciting story and hope to read the previous books soon~!
This is the first I’ve read from this author and is book three in a series stories. I followed along easily, not feeling like I was missing any major information from the first two books or the original M & M series. I will say it has peaked my interest to go back and read the others because of how much I enjoyed this book.
This book kept me on edge, always turning the page, having to see what was going to happen next. Secrets of the past, not only Robert’s but Ariel’s are lingering on the peripheral. Will they derail their futures, or will they conquer and overcome. A highly trained team of men struggle with internal battles and a common goals. Suspense, action, angst and betrayal are only a few of things I felt while reading this book and am really looking forward to continuing on with other stories from this author.
Robert and Ariel
A riveting story with a group of characters who are trying to remake their lives after they have been erased by an evil agent. Ariel began as Roberts psychologist, however, their feelings for each other became harder and harder to ignore. Will a change in doctors give them a chance for a future together?
She is so much more than a head doctor. She’s spent her earlier career working for MI6. His overwhelming need to protect her is more than she can deal with, yet she can’t tell him.
There are a group of men who went through the same process as Robert and he seems to be the one they rely on to keep them together. Will they all manage to create a new life without the memories of their past? Will they even have a chance with their enemies putting them on a hit list.
This is a compelling story, the third in the series. The first story I have read and had no problem figuring out what was going on due to the excellent transition from the author. The characters are a true team or are they?
I recommend the book to fans of political thrillers and just good reading. I plan to go back to the first two books while waiting for the fouth in the series.
Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
I know when I see a new book coming by Lexi Blake that I am not going to be disappointed or be putting it down until I get to the end. Her books are always filled with amazing characters, steamy moments and a whole lot of danger and intrigue!
We have met both Robert and Ariel in the earlier books and I am so excited they now have their story. Imagine having no memory of who you are and having to start all over again. Robert and his ‘brothers’ all have to deal with this because of an evil doctor. They get snippets of their memories but not enough to tell them who they were. Robert does know that he has changed and wants to stay with the woman he loves as the man he is now.
Ariel has been working with them to deal with a lot of their recovery but she is so much more than just a therapist. She has her own secrets but she knows how she feels about the man Robert is today. A man she has come to love.
Secrets are kept, friends are betrayed and there is a fine line drawn between friends and enemies, but there is so much more to this story and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
Lost in You can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest you catch up on the first books in the Forgotten series before reading this one. The storyline is ongoing throughout this series and we still don’t have all of the answers at the end of this book either. So go back and catch up! You won’t want to miss a moment.
Robert and Ariel’s book is so dammed good that I have devoured it in enormous chunks whenever I could shake off those pesky responsibilities! With the rest of the lost boys and the ever expanding team of kick ass men and women, the action is sustained and intense. Love, lies, betrayals, scheming baddies and complex allegiances all make this another fantastic read from the pen of Lexi Blake.
There is always great banter in these books and never more so when Big Tag is involved. I just love that these books can merge suspense, love and complex plotting into a compelling mix which has me reaching for the buy now button every time! And Tucker next! Yes!Fantastic
I’ve been wanting to try this series forever and I was not disappointed!
This is the 3rd book in the spin-off of Masters and Mercenaries and I would consider it a standalone. The overall theme of this series continues with each book, however the author did such a good job of bringing the reader up to speed to what is going on that I never felt lost.
I really enjoyed these characters. They are all trained to kick butt and take names, even the women. I get a kick out of a heroine who can really hold her own.
Everything about this book grabbed and held my attention. By the end of the book, I just wanted more. I can not wait to get Tucker’s story next. I’m also gonna have to go back and start with book one and read all of the Masters and Mercenaries series.
I highly recommend this if you are a fan of romantic suspense. It’s one of the best I’ve read!
If you are addicted to The Masters and Mercenaries books as I am, you are going to LOVE Robert and Ariel’s story! Robert is one of the Lost Boys. The men who were tortured, abused and made to rob banks to help fund Dr Mc Donalds research. Given medication to wipe out their memories. Ariel is the therapist helping all of them try to get their memories back, and has fallen in love with Robert at first sight. Robert wants Ariel and is also in love with her, but afraid he will not be able to give her a normal relationship. They both finally give into each other and oh my Lord does it get HOT!!! I do not want to give too much away as it will definitely spoil!! Lots of mystery, laughs and steamy pages!!!
I have been head over heels in love with Lexi’s books for years and even more so with the storyline that has involved Theo Taggart and The Lost Boys. The books revolving around the evil Hope McDonald plot has captivated me from the very beginning and the Forgotten series is, I feel, some of Lexi’s best writing. In Lost in You the series comes to a tipping point where agencies collide, secrets are revealed, people make huge revelations and the tide begins to change.
As I began this novel, I was overcome with joy at everything that happened just in the first few chapters and Lexi continued to not disappoint as the book continued. This book will go down as one of my favorites. This is saying a lot because I have loved each book in the Forgotten series along with every book in her Masters and Mercenaries series, but this one is just everything!!
As a huge fan of her work I know the dedication Lexi puts into each book and the fans will pour over each moment like I did. Some will gasp in shock and others will clap in glee. What I want to say (since I don’t want to give spoilers away) everything happened as it should have and now I wait in great anticipation for the next Lost Boys book for it will be epic.
Lost in You is a tale that is emotional, super steamy, and still so riveting that the story grabbed me right from the beginning and held me until the very end. Throw in the snarky, funny characters that I absolutely adore and I was hooked!
Robert and Ariel have been dancing around each other for years, but they both have been holding back for their own reasons. Ariel has secrets about her past and Robert is afraid of his unknown past and the beast that lies within him.
With their current mission as a fact finding mission only, Ariel has been sent along to help weed out the traitor that has been giving out their secrets and ultimately their whereabouts on every mission up to this point. Ariel is a psychologist and should be able to pin down who the traitor in the midst is while working in the field alongside everyone, something she hasn’t been able to do while sitting in one on one sessions with each man. She’s also looking forward to some one on one time with the man who has been circling her personal space, Robert. The only problem is, could he eventually catch up to his past and leave her sitting alone wanting him in the present.
Robert has wanted Ariel from the first moment he met her. What he fears is the beast that comes out in the nightmares he suffers while he sleeps. He would never want to harm the woman he’s come to care about, but the more time he spends with Ariel, the harder it becomes to stay away. Once he has a taste of her he never wants to let her go, but when his past walks through the door, he might not have a choice.
I cannot fault Lexi Blake’s books. She always fills them with heat, action, mystery, thrill, suspense and of course, romance… And Lost In You was no different.
I went into this book as one that hadn’t read the two previous books to the series, and I read it with ease, however, I can see why books one and two would be important.
Robert and Ariel were truly two of a kind. Robert had his demons, he held a lot of guilt from his past, things that he can’t change now, and reading that guilt he had was heartbreaking. I felt for this man, and it honestly made me love him more.
Ariel is stubborn as hell, Robert is trying to protect her, but Ariel wants nothing to do with it, she knows she can look after herself and these two together? Well, that was epic. The push and constant pull with these two were enough to send me crazy but in all the best ways. They were angsty, they were all the feels, plus action and suspense..
Lexi Blake is famous for her enticing plots, plot twists that will have your mind reeling, and they will keep you on the edge of your seat, clenching your kindle to breaking point. That is a guarantee whenever it comes to Ms. Blake’s work. She is the master at it, and I will always come back for more. Lost In You was no different. It was excellent, it was all-consuming, intense and addictive. I just couldn’t get enough! I’m off to read books one and two, and I know I’ll be re-reading this masterpiece again!
6 stars, because 5 isn’t enough!
I truly enjoyed Robert and Ariel’s story. Once again Lexi Blake not only creates a world filled with fast paced action, but also characters the reader truly falls in love with. The storyline had just the right about of secrets, answers and angst to keep me locked in from the opening pages. I cannot wait for more in this series.
5 Star Review of Lost In You (Masters and Mercenaries: The Forgotten #3) by Lexi Blake
I have been anticipating Robert McClellan and psychologist Ariel Adisa’s story which is the third book in the series. I would recommend you read this series in order, but that is just my opinion.
Robert is part of a group of 6 men who were rescued by Rescued by McKay Taggart, and now live in the world no longer knowing their true identities, searching for answers. Used as experiments they have had their memories stripped from them and they all react in varying ways.
Ariel is frustrated by Robert’s determination to protect her even though he knows that she can look after herself.
There were times that Robert nearly broke my heart, he lives with the guilt that has almost destroyed him and the knowledge that people have died because of his actions.
As the search for answers moves to Europe, they have no idea of the danger and betrayal in Munich that will put everyone at risk. What will happen when secrets from Robert’s past surface?
Lost and Found is filled with suspense, danger, intrigue and the growth of a deep and committed love; one that made my heart pound at times. Lexi Blake always ensure that her characters are never one dimensional or superficial and I was engrossed from the first chapter to the last.
