A dead maid found in a closet full of drugs and money, a multi-million dollar mansion with a shady group of owners trying to elect the next Governor of Massachusetts and a couple of has-been strippers looking to make a quick buck. What do they all have in common? Who knows, but you can be sure Troy Bodean will wind up in the middle of it all. He’s back and livin’ large on Martha’s Vineyard when all … livin’ large on Martha’s Vineyard when all the dirty dealings begin. He’s lost one girlfriend but maybe found another. And the multi-million dollar house he’s shacking up in just so happens to have a dead body stuck in a closet. Who committed the dastardly deed? The powerful political players, of course… but why?
He’s going to need some help to get through this one. Whom can he turn to? Could it be Daisy Mae and Ellie Mae Gallup, the twin sister strippers with the alleged love child of Troy? Yup. Hold onto your hats, this is going to be one wild ride.

Excelltn read. LOVED IT. Thought plot would be about a ;shark wave’ in a tropical area. But characters brought story to life. Laugh out loud funny, but after a while I felt guilty laughing at the happenings to the one character. TROY BODEAN was as believable a character as JACK REACHER. First time to read DAVID BERENS but am already looking for more of the series as this was book 6. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Good read. Hard to put down.
Third of this series I have had the pleasure of enjoying. They are wonderful mysteries and laugh out loud funny. You will never regret time spent with these books.
*slight spoilers*Let me start by saying that Shark Wave, as with other David Berens novels in his Troy Bodean Tropical Thrillers series, (of which this is Book 6), should come with a public health warning, e.g., ‘You WILL definitely need a box of tissues to hand, plus a glass of water to prevent choking with hysterical laughter, plus a good supply of incontinence pads for those with a weak bladder’. This is for your own hygiene and convenience, as I must warn you that there is no hope for anyone but the previously deceased, not to burst into uncontrollable laughter at the misfortunes that befall one of the villains of the story, the unfortunate ‘Country’. A bungling hitman, with an equally inept accomplice,(by one of the political Sharks of the title) sent to kill off our all-too flawed hero,Troy Bodean.
Corruption and murder go hand in hand with politics when Troy and his innocent lady friend, Prosperity Spartanburg, are thrust in at the deep end of skulduggery and non-stop shenanigans, when the latter,(working as a maid in Martha’s Vineyard) stumbles upon a murder victim’s body stuffed into a laundry cupboard. Troy comes to the rescue and soon finds out that lies and danger are everywhere; events from his past military service are brought to horrible life in PTSD flashbacks – that will get him killed if he gets in the Sharks’ way. Drug-running, money-laundering, bribery and corruption, grease the wheels of State, while the lure of power makes the greedy and corrupt careless – or dangerous. Can Troy and Prosperity enjoy an HEA? Who are Ellie Mae and Daisy Mae – and what is their link to Troy?
You absolutely must not miss these novels starring Troy Bodean and friends,as each one is outstandingly witty,exciting,entertaining,laugh-out-loud funny in places, scary, realistic,(with the smuggling and political corruption storylines) and much more. They’re guaranteed to put a smile on your face, while delivering a moral (&/or environmental) message, without detracting from David Berens’ 100% fantastic adventures in any way, while being fully satisfying and moreish.Get all 6 in the Troy Bodean Tropical Thrillers series – your bookshelves will thank you. Very highly recommended for your complete reading pleasure!
Lots of twists and turns. enjoyed the suspense!!!
I have lived on Martha’s Vineyard my whole life and was shocked to learn we have both a strip club and a Phillips 66 here. Big fail.
Pretty lame attempt. Reads like an episode of Dukes of Hazzard.
This book kept me wanting to find out what would happen next and at the same time rolling on the floor with laughter. Well written!
Too boring to read
This is one of the worst books I have ever read. Ridiculous plot, lousy characters and unrealistic action. One character bleeds about 50 liters and never dies. Others are knocked out so many times they should be dead but unfortunately aren’t. I am always determined to finish a book I start but doing it this time was a real drag.
What a wonderful book David Berens wrote with Shark Wave.! What a talented Author. Wove the story telling like gold. Cast of characters that meshed with the other characters to further the plot and yet were stand alone strong characters too. Like I said Mr. Berens is a very skillful talented writer and he presented a helping of humor as well. I laughed so much I had to put down the book to clear the laugh tears so I could begin to read again. Mr. Berens has defintely honed his writing craft and is a superb Auhor. I know now I will be reading all his books. Smooth reading too. Action galore!! Very diverse characters too. I could go on and on but I think you get the point…and my question is, where are the other five stars beause five doesn’t do this book the justice it deserves. HIGHLY recommend this book!!!
