This was a good romantic suspense without too much heavy sex. I enjoyed the plot, and the thrilling turns in the story kept me engaged. Adam was a good man and father, just trying to do his job, while Willow was doing what she could for her friend. This was an entertaining read.
This is the first book that I have read by Dorothy. I loved it. There was suspense, heart wrenching moments, romance and love. The beginning has you gripped wanting to know who and what is going to happen. I absolutely love Adam. From the very beginning he is caring and sweet. Willow suffers something no one should ever go through. But she ends up with a little happiness. Adam and Willow meet up 4 years after first meeting and things are still strong between them. But will they get through the past that is still after Willow. This was a wonderful written book from beginning to end. Absolutely loved the storyline and the characters. Willow was so strong through everything no matter how much she wanted to break down. I highly recommend reading this one.
When heartache fills your past, can you really move on and take the risk of opening your heart to another? Adam has that decision to make and with Willow, he’s certainly found someone to stamp that fear down and make a life changing step. Challenging events shaped this story, with a lurking danger that simmers around the edge – keeping you, the reader, on your toes. The chemistry between Adam & Willow was sizzling, and I couldn’t help but cheer them on. All in all, I really enjoyed the pace and story-telling – it most definitely keep me glued to my kindle!
First, I want to thank Dorothy Ewels for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.
Dorothy Ewels new novel Love at Last is fast paced thriller that gripped my attention right from the first page! I was totally engrossed into the story until the action-packed ending. Dorothy sure knows how to write an amazing book!
I loved in the beginning of the book Dorothy said “to the man who is the wings that permit me to fly. Thank you for encouraging me to soar, no matter how scary the flight. Thank you for being my safety net. I love you.”
I absolutely loved the characters named in the book. They were so unique. Names like Willow, Meri, Gracie, etc.
This book was incredible starting off having your best friend finding your pregnant friend attacked, investigation, cryptic letters, a lot of action, three adorable little girls, romance and some steamy sex scenes!
I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC and I am glad that I did.
The story starts on a tragedy with a young mother and Willow’s best friend losing her life and Willow stepping in to take care of the babies. She was a totally likeable character who honours her friend’s memory by being a mother to the twins. Adam was also a down to earth character and their chemistry was on point. No over the top, but something that warms the heart.
The background story of the murder and the backdrop of Cape Town makes this book a page-turner. If you are looking for a solid read, this is definitely the book for you.
Wow what a truly emotional read this was, right from chapter one. Willows life drastically changes in the matter of one night. Detective Adam responded to a call, where he meets Willow, and feels this connection with her he has never felt before. Fast forward a couple of years and these two have been thrown into each other’s lives yet again, and this time it’s defs not a bad thing, until her life is in danger Almost like fate had a hand in their meetings
Love At Last by Dorothy Ewels is the story of Willow Martin and Adam Dawson.
Willow’s best friend was murdered leaving her with her two children to care for now. Adam is the detective on the case to solve the murder but what he is finding unexpected is his feelings. But he is guarded with his feeling and in addition there is this case of her friend’s murder. Their story had a lot of things that made me keep turning the page. I really liked Adam and Willow of course. I was curious to see how she was as a new ‘mom’ and what had happened with her friend. This is my first book by this author and I really hope to read more of her stories….loved it.
This was my first read by this author, and now I’m hooked! The story of Adam, a Detective, and Willow, a young woman who became an instant Mother when her friend was murdered, is truly the type of book that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Adam met Willow years before under dire circumstances, and ends up meeting her again years later thru their children. Both these characters had past relationships that left something to be desired, so when they meet, sparks fly! They both are hesitant to start up a relationship, but as you read, you just know that they belong together. Until one night that may change it all, happens! This author describes these characters in such a way that you can actually envision what they look like. Plus this book will keep you so enthralled, you won’t want to put it down. It has it all…sadness, happiness, lust, fear and even quite possibly love. I truly enjoyed this book and you will too!
This is a sweet love story with a very sad beginning but a happy ever after. Adam and Willow both have reason to be wary of commitment and a tragic event makes them aware of each other, but it is their daughters who really bring them together several years later. Although it looks like Adam will run scared, a terrifying ordeal and a wise mother sets him on the right path and love takes over.
