Loving your sisters is easy. Watching them hurt is the hard part.
The Skatt sisters are notorious in the tiny town of Forest Hills for their redheads’ temper, sisterly fights and their father leaving them with their mother and her questionable mental stability. When she dies, eldest sister Maggie steps in to take care of her sisters.
Maggie and Mike are just as famous. After a teenage pregnancy … are just as famous. After a teenage pregnancy that ended happily with a strong marriage and five daughters of their own, they’re a force to be reckoned with in the tiny town.
But when the unthinkable happens, Maggie is blindsided with the grief. For months, Maggie finds comfort in her talks with Mike’s ghost, but the list of things Maggie can’t bring herself to tell him begins to add up; things like grandbabies, and his girls having boyfriends, and Brady Todd, not to mention the fight with the customer at FoodMart and the visit from the police.
And Maggie can’t tell Mike about the return of Ben Higgins, because how do you talk to the ghost of your dead husband about the fact she thinks she might be ready to move on with another man?
Luckily, Maggie’s sisters are there for her, if she’ll only let them.
“…small town romance with wonderful characters. lots of drama and tons of love. It is women’s fiction at its finest.”

Hanging On is a delightful and warm book about family heartbreak and new beginnings.
Maggie’s family life is complicated. She lost her beloved husband 8 months ago, her eldest daughter is pregnant from a man who is not her husband, her other daughter is dating a man twice her age, her long-lost sister has returned with a frightening announcement, and she has quit her job of 30 years. With her volatile household in chaos will she be able to hold it together and find happiness in a widower’s arms, or will her sisters have to pick up the pieces?
Ms. Kerr’s story of a multi-generational family in turmoil is believable and full of love and drama as only sisters create.
This is book 2 of the Sisters in a Small Town series and can be read on its own, and I definitely plan to read more books by Ms. Kerr. Recommend highly!

This is such a wonderful, emotionally charged story. The storyline flows and is full of family drama. The characters have depth and are believable. Great book! I received and ARC of this book and have chosen to give my honest opinion.
She had always been there for her sister and then her chikdren. She was a mother no matter what. She had him by her side until he died suddenly. Now her world is broken, she speaks to him once a week. She finds herself drawn to another but will she take a chance? See how she gets on

Another lovely, well-written story in this great series. I grew very attached to these sisters in the first book and am so pleased to be able to say that my fondness has only grown after reading this one. This story has mishaps aplenty and the kind of drama only sisters can create, and I enjoyed every page.
Hanging On is Maggie’s story, She is one of five Skatt sisters and has five daughters. Her husband died 8 months ago. This is a well written drama of Maggie’s life as she moves on without her soulmate. It is a small town romance with wonderful characters. lots of drama and tons of love. It is women’s fiction at its finest.
Wonderful Multi-Generation Women’s Story
This story is about several generations of women in a small town. The main figure is a woman who raised her four sisters and is now raising her 5 daughters, alone. The drama is intense and believable. Nothing is easy in this family and the small town atmosphere does not help at all. The entire book is put together well. It ends with a smooth lead into the next book. I loved the story and I am sure that I will read it again. I received this ARC book for free and this is my honest opinion.
