I love a marriage of convenience story and Jules Bennett really delivers in Married in Name Only. Bonus it’s a Texas Cattleman’s Club book which is a series I always enjoy!!! Be sure to add this one to your summer reading list.
A marriage of convenience story told with passion and intense emotion. Jules Bennett knows romance! Paisley made Lucas work to win her heart. The happy ending was perfect!
Jules Bennett has another wonderful book on her hands with this next story in the TCC series for Desire. I literally couldn’t put it down once I started. Can you imagine having to go back to the man you once loved fiercely to ask him for his help. That is what Paisley is doing when she goes to ask Lucas to help her with a problem. While there he makes a proposition he doesn’t think she can turn down. She leaves though but has to come back to him to agree to said proposition..I love Paisley though as she has a backbone and doesn’t back down to Lucas.. She holds her own against this alpha male. While together she falls all over for him again but finds out that he has lied to her and kept info from her and she can’t have that. He has to come back and beg and plead to her to get her to open her eyes that they both love each other. A great story. Also in the background of the story we have the one person that is taunting Sterling and Ryder. A awesome story you must read!
Paisley and Lucas have a history.
Years ago, Paisley and Lucas had a relationship. That was before Lucas’ father told Paisley she was holding him back. She let him go, and tried to get over him as Lucas tried to get over her.
When Paisley’s mother passed away, she told Paisley who is her biological father. But Paisley needs to be sure, and she needs help from Lucas (who is now a private detective) to confirm if Sterling Perry really is her father. Lucas puts some stipulations on his willingness to help Paisley, and his plot for revenge has some interesting consequences.
Although this book is a continuation from previous in this series, and the secondary plot is a bit confusing to drop into, you’ll catch onto the majority and Paisley and Lucas’ story is one you won’t want to miss.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
Once again Jules Bennett writes a wonderful book with Married in Name Only book #5 in The Texas Cattleman’s Club:Houston Series. This book is a second chance romance between Paisley Morgan & Lucas Ford. Paisley is wanting to know who her dad is? Is it Texas’s most imfamous billionaire Sterling Perry or someone else? Paisely wants Lucas who is a private investigator to find the information she needs. Lucas who wants revenge against Sterling agrees to help her if she marries him! You see Lucas and Paisley have a history! Have I got your attention yet? I encourage you to get this book to find out the rest of the story. You will not be disappointed. Lucas and Paisley have great chemistry, they make this book sizzle! Great book!
I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
I was happy to read this in exchange for an honest review ! Lucas & Paisley were a fun couple to read about with a history. It’s a temporary married so the story begins but I loved watching them settle into a comfortable domestic pattern with all the SIZZLING PERKS of marriage! This was a very well written story about revenge , chemistry & hope that I felt was perfect for them… sexy, Witty & heartfelt as usual for a Jules Bennett romance ! A must have!
Right from the first chapter, Author Jules Bennett dives in and throws it out there! In this second chance story, Paisley needs Lucas’s help, even though she ran away from him years ago…leaving only a note and some broken hearts.
Author Jules Bennett has written another wonderful, heated love story, full of redemption, hard feelings, second chances, heartbreak and love! Married in Name Only is written in 3rd person POV with wonderful characters, and flows really well and is easy to follow, as long as you are current on the series. This is the 5th book in the Texas Cattleman’s Club series, written by various authors. I would definitely not call this a standalone, as there is a subplot/storyline flowing throughout this whole series. It will take away somewhat if you are not caught up on the series.
I would recommend this book, but like I stated earlier, after reading books 1-4 of the series. 4.5 Stars!
Paisley and Lucas were in a relationship years ago. That is until his father made it known that she should let him go so he can achieve his dreams. She wrote him a “Dear John” letter and tried like hell to get over him. Easier said than done.
Paisley’s mother passed away but before she did she told her that her biological father was one of the most powerful men in the city. Sterling Perry. Just his name puts the fear of God in most locals. Paisley is friends with his daughters and fantasies about what it would be like to have siblings. She knows she needs proof before she asks so she goes to the one person she knows that can help her sort if all out.
Lucas can’t believe Paisley has walked back into his life again. Long ago he thought they would be together forever and then she left him, via a note, like an unwanted piece of trash. Now she has shown her face again and asked him for a favor on top of it all. But her favor has his brain churning. If he helps her, it might actually be a win for him too. Revenge on her leaving him and revenge against Public Enemy number 1, Sterling Perry. Now if only he can keep his emotions in check. He fell for her once, he won’t make that mistake again.
Returning to the Texas Cattleman’s Club series with Paisley and Lucas was a fun ride. Young sweethearts with years of experience now under their belts, coming back together and trying to make it work in their future selves. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader copy without expectation. The twists and turns in this second chance love story had me flipping the pages very quickly. A solid 4 stars for Married in Name only, can’t wait to head back again to that elusive Club.
Secrets abound! With a fast paced second chance at love story, Jules Bennett brings us the next book in the Texas Cattleman’s Club: Houston series. We’re getting closer to discovering who has been up to no good throughout all of the series, and for this particular story we get a reunion of high school sweethearts years later. The characters were easy to like and the story was fun!
Paisley Morgan has always regretted dumping the love of her life, but at the time she thought she was doing the best thing for him. Now he’s the best private investigator in town, so she’s having to go crawling to him for help. She’s all of a sudden being told that one of the richest guys in town is her father … how can that be??
Lucas Ford has never forgiven Paisley for walking away from the future they had promised each other. Now that he has her right where he wants her, he’s going to twist the knife and tell her he’ll help her on one condition … that she marry him!
Second chance romance.
Paisley Morgan wants to know if one of Texas billionaires is her fater. She needs help and that person is her ex. Lucas never forgat Paisley and now she is in his office asking for help. He will help her but only if she agrees to marry him.
Love this story. Great characters. Well written.
This is book 5 in a continuity series & I would suggest reading the previous 4 books in the series before you read this one. I love second chance romances & this one did not disappoint. Paisley needs the help of her ex Lucas to find out if Stirling Perry is her father. Lucas has a personal reason to go after Stirling so he agrees to help Paisley for a price-he wants her back in his life.
I’ve read several books by this author and once again she did not disappoint.
At the heart, this is the ultimate second chance romance. Less than ideal circumstances bring the hero and heroine back together after a dozen years apart. There is some underlying intrigue and suspense that brings more meat to the story.
While the background storyline does indeed cross multiple books, it does not impact the overall outcome of the hero & heroine’s story so the book can definitely read as a standalone.
I enjoy the Texas Cattleman Club in Harlequin Desire. I just finished Married In Name Only by Jules Bennett, one of my favorite authors. It was a great read. She does a good job including perspective from the guys point of view. I enjoy this. I also enjoyed the mystery aspect and the heroine was great. Ok, it actually made me get the other books in the series to read. I have read TCC/Texas Cattleman’s Club series before and enjoyed it. I like the different authors for each book and the different styles playing off of the same story-line. Jules Bennett did a great job and now I can’t wait for the next book. If you like contemporary romance and western/cowboys… read this book.
Married in Name Only is the fifth Texas Cattleman’s Club series and I would suggest reading the other books due to the fact that there is a sub plot that is continued through out the series. However, this story is an amazing story of second chance at first love and revenge can ruin a good thing. Paisley broke up with Lucas years ago at the urging of his father. Now she needs his help finding out who her father is. Lucas is looking for revenge against Sterling Perry, who ruined his father and now his ex-girlfriend asks for help proving that Sterling is her father. The story that follows is filled with steamy nights, a little drama, and a renewal of young love. The characters and the story are wonderfully written.
I received this advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
“Married in Name Only” by Jules Bennett is book 5 of the Texas Cattleman’s Club: Houston continuity.
Paisley Morgan wants to know if Sterling Perry is her father and she needs Lucas Ford, her ex from years ago and now a private investigator, to find the truth.
Lucas has his own reasons to help Paisley. Revenge against the man who destroyed his father and the desire to have a child with the woman who walked away from him. To get what he wants, and for Paisley to get what she wants, he tells Paisley they have to marry.
Neither expect emotions from their past relationship to bubble to the surface. Nor do they realize the truth might ruin their second chance at love.
Ms. Bennett writes an emotional story while continuing the mystery arc of the previous titles in the TCC series.
Whew! It’s a scorcher in Texas. Jules and the Texas Cattleman’s Club never ever dissappoint. I loved her nickname and how how “sassy” she could be (wedding dress wink wink). Lucas and Paisley were in love when they were younger but she broke his heart. I loved that this “fake” marriage changes both of them. This series always gives you some great intrigue and drama. Jules writes stories that make you feel the connection between the characters, the chemistry and you just want to keep reading to find out what happens. And, I love that these books give you a HEA for the story but lead into the next Cattlemen’s book.
great story but need to read the other books to get the secondary plot.
Paisley and Lucas have history but she needs him to help her find out who her father is after her mom passes away and leaves a weird letter.
Lucas wants her back in his life.
solid couldn’t put down story.
