I loved “Christmas Interference” so I was glad to read this continuation of Chloe and Shane’s story. I love these two characters! I did think Chloe acted a little immature with her actions. I think Wyatt nailed it by stating she was acting like a two year old. Lot’s of drama in this one. I am glad that Wyatt, Chloe and Shane got over the past and were finally able to more forward. This is a wonderful and well written story and a great addition to the “Baltimore Banners”.
Fighting to Score may be book 12 in the Baltimore Banners Series but that doesn’t mean it can’t be read as a stand-alone, I know this because I’m playing catch up with this great series and at this time I haven’t read every book but I still loved Shane and Chloe’s story. This book was so much more than just a romance it was a journey, it was a story about forgiveness, letting go of the past and its certainly second chance romance at its best.
Shane and Chloe have a history and it’s not pleasant, Chloe feels that Shane abandoned her and Shane can’t forgive himself for walking away after an incident involving Wyatt who is Chloe’s twin.
Shane is determined to win Chloe back but will he fight for her when the past collides with the present in this must read love story……..
This book captivated me, it has characters I fell in love with and it stole a piece of my heart as I got involved in this emotional roller coaster. If you love hockey and love stories you will want to one click this brilliant read. Looking forward to reading more from this very talented author and her loveable hockey players and their partners.
5 star Review Fighting to Score ( Baltimore Banners #12) by Lisa B Kamps
What a great hokey romance. From start to finish I was riveted and couldn’t put this book down. This is Shane Masters and Chloe Hunter’s story which began in Christmas Interference. However, I have not read the book where these two began and I had no trouble following this one at all.
Shane, Chloe and Chloe’s twin brother Wyatt (also Shane’s ex best friend) have a past full of friendship, love and tragedy together. In fact they knew Shane before he became a member of the Baltimore Banners.
I swiftly became invested in Shane and Chloe. What will happen when the past and present collide? Will they take a chance or will their relationship be destroyed forever?
Fighting to Score was a well written story of love, forgiveness and acceptance. It will tug at your emotions and was at times was an emotional roller coaster of a read, but one I recommend you one click.
Another great addition to the Baltimore Banner Series! And for better understand of Shane and Chloe, read Christmas Interference! Have Fighting To Score ready because you’ll be wanting more of their story! Here it is!
Author Kamps did an awesome job with the male point of view. I was so very drawn to him and the anguish he carried. Most would have just looked at him as a wealthy hockey jock, but Shane was so in depth with his past, career and his generous heart too. He was so much more than even his teammates saw.
Chloe reminded me of a fish out of water. She was foundering. She wasn’t able to resolve the past so she hadn’t dug her feet into the present or thought a future possible. At times, I was aggravated with her. But their story gets turned around and there’s an HEA! I really like how Author Kamps ended the book. I didn’t get the surprise I was hoping for, but I got a better ending than I would have written!
4 1/2 stars. I was so happy to finally get the rest of Shane and Chloe’s story after that teaser in Christmas Interference. Things certainly did not go as I hoped they would have from there though, that is for sure. Seems like a lot of communication breakdown between the two of them has kept them from finding their HEA. But they have another chance now, thanks to some interference from a very unlikely person. Even with that help, things definitely are not as smooth as you would hope but don’t give up. I love their journey and I think it has a lot to do with the realism of their story. As always I loved this epilogue! Lisa has quite a knack for wonderful wrap-ups! And lastly, I am totally in love with Wyatt and even though he is not on the Banners, I really hope to get more of him!!
Loved it! An excellent second chances story that sucked me in from page 1. Strong characters working through past hurts to find their HEA!
Fighting to Score is a fantastic hockey romance! It’s is the continuing story about Shane and Chloe that all started in Christmas Interference.
Again, Lisa B. Kamps has brought us characters that we can’t help but love and root for to find their way to their happily ever after.
Shane, Chloe and Wyatt, Chloe’s twin brother have a long history filled with friendship, love and tragedy. Now, five years later they are all finding a way to reconnect and put the past behind them and let go of the guilt. Shane and Chloe have loved each other for years and now they have a chance to see if they can get back the passion they once had. They have the chemistry but relationships need more than that. Trust, understanding and honesty are hard fought for these two but so worth it in the end.
I enjoyed finding out more about Wyatt and his ability and chance to let the pity go and move on from his injury to find the friendship that he and Shane had lost and a love and life he never expected.
Having just recently read Christmas Interference which introduces Shane, Chloe and Wyatt, I was pleased that Fighting to Score soon follows!
Shane and Chloe have a history together. That history started before he became the hockey star he is today. While he sees nothing wrong in picking up right where he and Chloe ended in Christmas Interference, (where he and Chloe reconnect after five years), Chloe is surprised by the man he has become since turning pro after spending time with him in Baltimore – surrounded by his wealth, popularity, etc. – a man so unlike the man she new before. Chloe begins to question how/if she can fit into his new life.
There are many layers to this story; acceptance, forgiveness, letting go of the past and accepting the present….and other layers. And not just with Shane and Chloe as their story is interwoven into Wyatt’s (Shane’s old best friend and Chloe’s twin brother). What does Wyatt’s future hold?
We are drawn into their stories – the heartbreaking parts and the joyous parts – as watch all three characters grow. Can they overcome their obstacles and find happiness both within themselves and with each other?
Don’t miss this wonderful addition to the Baltimore Banners series!
Once you start on a series, you get invested in all of the characters. This story continues with the Baltimore Banners – namely Shane and Chloe.
It is a very angsty read as there is a lot of misunderstanding and miscommunication between Shane and Chloe while they work through their issues.
