I’m not someone who reads a lot of Highlander romance tales, but if they were all like Lydia Kendall’s Highlander’s Forbidden Soulmate then I could see myself becoming quite addicted. Read the publisher’s blurb for a good description. There’s simply too much going on here, though it’s all good and really, really well done. Action, adventure, battle, great romance and a peak into a lot of Scottish culture that I knew nothing about. This is truly fun stuff and I definitely loved it. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises – the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend.
This story had everything that I crave in a Highland romance: A swoon-worthy leading man, a bold and brave leading lady, forbidden love, scandalous secrets, a search for the truth and a unexpected twist at the end. I hated to see the book end!
I Highly Recommend this new romance by Lydia. It has all the elements necessary for a Scottish romance: a flight back to Scotland with an English girl, a furious father bent on revenge, a handsome Laird and an English beauty who longs for freedom. Add a missing brother and old secrets and you have all the ingredients of a great novel.
