Is your first love worth a second chance…’ Colleen O’Rourke is in love with love…just not when it comes to herself. Most nights, she can be found behind the bar at the Manningsport, New York, tavern she owns with her twin brother, doling out romantic advice to the lovelorn, mixing martinis and staying more or less happily single. See, ten years ago, Lucas Campbell broke her heart…an … experience Colleen doesn’t want to have again, thanks. Since then, she’s been happy with a fling here and there, some elite-level flirting and playing matchmaker to her friends. But a family emergency has brought Lucas back to town, handsome as ever and still the only man who’s ever been able to crack her defenses. Seems like maybe they’ve got some unfinished business waiting for them–but to find out, Colleen has to let her guard down, or risk losing a second chance with the only man she’s ever loved.

Audio review from 2017
This story was wonderful. I laughed out loud at times, I laughed at the other mixing British and American terms even though the story is set is small town New York, I giggled at the Harry Potter references and the last two hours of the book made me cry sad and happy tears.
Recommend to anyone looking for a feel good story
Colleen O’Rourke is the go-to person if you want advice on love. She has fixed up more people and has more babies named after her in this small town than anyone else but she doesn’t have anyone special in her life. Lucas Campbell is back in town because his uncle is dying and needs his help. His cousin is not adjusting nor has he grown up and …
I loved this story! It’s my favorite in the series, so far. I was immediately invested in Lucas and Colleen’s second-chance love story. Their individual backstories were entertaining and sometimes sad, but even more heartbreaking was their young love, broken apart by mistakes, indignation, and hurt. Tempering the heartache and remorse was the …
Loved this one so much. Laughed out loud at times and also felt close to tears at other times. I did feel like I wanted to have a little more happy time with Lucas and Colleen so I’m hoping for a really healthy update on them in book 4.
NEVER A DISAPPOINTMENT WITH A KRISTAN HIGGINS BOOK
This is the cutest series
This is book 3 of the Blue Heron series. I’m pretty sure this one tops the other two previous books. Waiting on You is a second chance story. It’s sweet and tragic with sides of humor all mixed together to form a wonderful story.
Waiting on You features dysfunctional families all the way around. Both Lucas and Colleen have experienced tragedies, …
Waiting on You is the third installment in Kristan Higgins’s adult contemporary romance series titled: Blue Heron. This was another very likable addition to a sweet and romantic series. Waiting on You incorporated complicated family dynamics in regards to the hero which made me tear up a bit. With palpable emotions and a few pretty laughable …
Ugh, the heroine.
I don’t think I am cut out for Contemporary Romance or maybe it’s Kristan Higgins.
I felt really bad despising the heroine with so many reviews saying, “Poor girl.” “The H doesn’t deserver her.”, but at the 80-something% the big shoe drops so to hell with all that.
PLOT:
The h and H were high school lovers, soul mates. The H …
