I would rated higher except for sex.
I enjoyed this book very much.
A simple easy to read CLEAN romance, hard to come by
A sweet book written by an experienced author. A good story for a lazy afternoon.
The background is an unique story of bringing mail order brides to the west, not one at atime, but a whole bunch all at once.
A sweet read
Maybe I would have enjoyed this book more if I’d read more of the previous books. There were a lot of characters the reader was asked to care and know about. My main problem, however, was with the unrealistic situation of the “Copper Barons” taking so much time with a small charity that didn’t seem to be doing much good besides helping beautiful women get married. Also, dialogue and attitudes were distractingly modern. It wasn’t bad, just not my cup of tea. If it’s romance you really care about, this book will probably work for you. If your into the historical aspect of historical fiction, try a different book.
Good pool read
A rags to riches historical romance. Abby ran away to Promise Creek and her life began to change. She awaits a group of ladies coming to live in Promise creek to help build the town. The women come in on the train because there are 3 times the amount of miners as their are women in Promise Creek. These ladies come to take jobs and potentially marry miners. Some of the ladies essentially coming from nothing and have the potential to marry rich miners. You’ll fall in love with the close knit community of Promise Creek and the characters.
Great
The story started out with such promise, but never told much about the young women who came out west to start a new life and the challenges they faced. The story was very one-sided concentrating on the two main characters and read mostly like a dime-store romance novel.
Good read! I enjoyed the story line. Characters were entertaining . The love of family was refreshing.
Loved the story and the characters. Can’t wait to read the next about Lily.
